Laura Ocker is a Licensed Acupuncturist, in practice since 2003. Laura has worked extensively in non-profit integrated community health centers as well as private practice, helping people address common health concerns to live fuller lives. She opened Cascade Family Acupuncture in Milwaukie in 2009. With a gentle touch and caring presence, Laura enjoys working with children and adults of all ages.

Laura completed studies at the Oregon College of Oriental Medicine (OCOM) in 2003 with a Master of Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine. She studied ecology at Florida State University, graduating with a Bachelor of Science in Biology in 1993. Laura is licensed to practice under the Oregon Medical Board and certified by the National Certification Commission for Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine. Laura currently serves on the Board of Directors of the Oregon Association of Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine as immediate Past President. She is a member of the Public Policy Committee of the American Association of Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine and a member of the Values Based Benefits Subcommittee of the Health Evidence Review Commission under the Oregon Health Authority. Laura was recently presented with the 2013 Alumni Ambassador Award from the Oregon College of Oriental Medicine in recognition of her leadership and advocacy. Passionate about expanding access to quality health care, Laura has been a strong advocate for greater inclusion of effective complementary and alternative therapies under state and national health care delivery systems.

Laura has traveled extensively in Latin America and speaks Spanish fluently. She lives in Portland with her husband and two children.

Laura's private practice is located on King Road in Milwaukie, near the intersection with Linwood Avenue. The clinic is convenient to neighborhoods in Portland, Clackamas, Gladstone, Happy Valley, and Oregon City. Also practicing at this location are Dr. Kevin Segal, D.C. with Back in Shape Chiropractic and Dr. Meredith McClanen, N.D. with Naturopathic Family Medicine. Appointments with a Licensed Massage Therapist are available as well.
